I help science teachers inspire wonder in our world while instilling critical thinking skills in their students that last a lifetime.
For the past five years, I’ve used a novel lesson planning framework to create a student-centered classroom culture while establishing a routine of exploration, reflection, and analysis.
My students – who are mostly not college-bound – become comfortable and confident with the challenges I create for them.
My professional development programs help other science teachers use their deep content knowledge to share their passion for science to teach informed decision-making, increase student confidence, and nurture meaningful relationships.

Frequently Asked Questions
What grade levels will this program support?
As a high school science teacher who believes that leveraging students’ natural inquiry as a instructional strategy stops in middle school in favor of memorization of facts and figures for standardized tests, I recommend my methods for middle school and high school science teachers.
The sooner students learn and begin practicing science skills, the more proficient they will be by the time they graduate!
Is this designed only for new science teachers?
The sooner science teachers can adopt student-centered, inquiry-based strategies that require more focused, thoughtful action the better!
By starting with the approaches described in this program early in your career, you’re less likely to feel bored and burnout … instead, you might wake up feeling excited to go to work and content in the knowledge that you’re commitment is creating true life-long learners.
However, I only found my way to these methods after 9 years of working with the traditional, lecture-lab mindset!
If you are a veteran teacher or second-career science teacher who knows what you want to accomplish but don’t how to implement it or haven’t yet been successful, this program will be very helpful to begin the process of change.
Why is this program 30 days long?
This program has been designed to help every teacher learn something new.
If your current strategy is completely teacher-centered, following a very conventional lecture-and-lab approach, these 30 days will enlighten you to all that’s involved in truly transforming your classroom culture to one that is completely student-centered and inquiry-based.
If you’ve already been experimenting with interactive lesson plans that include regular data analysis and collaboration, you may take away only a few new strategies. But, these strategies could help you devise a formula for providing supercharged science experiences in your classroom everyday.
Do I have to participate in the community feature?
When I first started thinking about offering programs to help science teachers, I searched for a platform that would support and strengthen connections between us … because this job is hard, and we need each other!
While I share the lessons I’ve learned in this program, there will be teachers who enroll that have mastered aspects of it and have valuable insight to add to my own. For others, there may be a million questions to ask!
The community feature is a positive bonus to all of my programs, one that can become familiar and addictive if you keep your mind open to contribute what you know and receive what you need.
